hunts and gram

While we were at Useppa we took a weekend trip to see Josh's maternal grandmother in little San Antonio, Florida. She lives on this amazingly peaceful piece of property with a beautiful lake in the backyard. It was such a special visit and so important to us that we introduced our daughter to Josh's gram. Huntleigh is her first great-grandchild, which is a very unique privilege, indeed.

hmmm...let me ponder a moment

This is our friend Steve who we met in Useppa. I love this shot because Huntleigh looks so studious and thoughtful. Steve and Huntleigh got along very nicely. She loved his glasses!

i come with peace

space baby

I bought these sunglasses for Huntleigh because I thought they might be practical--at least, the advertisement made me think they would be. They have this elastic band that goes around the back of her head and a velcro strip in the back....um, they're not practical, but they are quite ridiculous. She looks like she should be getting off of a space ship. "Greetings. My name is Huntleigh and I come from a far-away land...."

pool play with daddy

pool play

Here we are for Huntleigh's first time in a pool. She really seemed to like the water...didn't really get the whole splashing motion, though. And then her diaper exploded because momma forgot to put the swim diaper on. That was fun.

the infamous banyan tree on useppa

huntleigh goes to useppa

This is Bill and Edna's house on Useppa Island, Florida. We took Huntleigh here at the end of April for a much-needed vacation. This house has been in the family since the year Josh and I were born...it has so much Hager heritage and is a house filled with memories and love. It was the perfect family vacation and Hunts was a superstar little traveler.

losing my center of gravity

oh so big!

This is the first time that Huntleigh sat up on her own--at just around 5 1/2 months old. She was a bit wobbly, as you'll see in the progression following....

Cardinal baseball baby

We were able to tour the new Busch Stadium just before the season began! We're so glad it's baseball season, once again!
