almost 10 months

almost 10 months old and what a resume:

crawls very fast: get ready moms!
trying to take first steps
will cry most pitifully when told "no"
not a picky eater: have you seen those thighs?!
quite bold and adventurous
loves to travel: has passport, will travel.
will put anything and everything in mouth
will be a ham for anyone in the mood to be entertained
happier out and about than contained in the livingroom

koi and cheerios

Ever since I was little, I have loved the bridge in the Japanese Garden and the koi who lurk beneath it. Way back when my dad was in seminary, the fish food used to be 10 cents per turn and we would save all dimes in a candy tin in our car. Now you get the same amount of food for 25 cents, so Huntleigh and I fed the koi her Cheerios. As you can see, the fish aren't starving, even though they certainly act as if they are.

Check out Chihuly.

chillins and chihuly

Today we took a nice break from the regularity of the week and visited the Botanical Gardens with our friends. The weather is incredible today for the end of August. It feels somewhat like fall. Here are Huntleigh and Gigi in front of my favorite Chihuly display.

reading with daddy

Daddy and Huntleigh love to read together. He is excellent when it comes to making all the animal noises and she is just fascinated! Our favorite book is her big animal book....especially the chincilla page. Dog, cat, bird....chinchilla. Josh made up some weird noise for the chinchilla because we didn't want it to feel left out. Does anybody know the official chinchilla noise?
