all caught up

Well, I'm really proud of myself today because I finally am all up to date on this blog. I'll soon post pictures of those bedrooms that put me so behind the eight ball. I'm really proud of the work that I did and I want to share it.

But I want to thank all of you who emailed me or somehow let me know that you missed my cyberspace presence. I love to know that people all over the world are looking at my blog, because, truthfully, that is what it is for. I guess I'm also glad to know that it is not just my mom who looks at it. (Even though she sees Huntleigh at least twice a week, she still likes to say to me, "So...are you going to work on your blog tonight?") Oh, sweet Marilyn. And to my local friends who just gave me a hard time about not updating. Even though they also see me on a weekly or more than once a week basis. Or the ones that I talk to everyday...(sw). Thank you for how you all love me.

Just a few random thoughts:

Today when I went in to get Huntleigh from her crib, she had completely unzipped her fuzzy sleeper and was naked underneath. I REALLY really wanted to take a picture, but I was not convinced this would have been the best thing to encourage such behavior. She just kept saying to me: "No diaper. No diaper. No diaper?" kind of like it was a question, but I think also to let me know--just in case I had not yet seen its absence--that she was indeed, without diaper and perhaps (?) was quite happy to be as such. I tried to hide my laughter, but I am sure it was to no avail. Surprisingly, she wasn't wet, nor was her bed. She just loves to zipper everything and I think she discovered that she could unzip herself from her sleeper and then, lo and behold, just take her diaper off, too! I suppose that some people might think she is ready for potty-training because of this incident, but I guess I am the one not ready for potty-training. I know what it's all about and I'm not ready for it with Thanksgiving, Christmas and a new baby all right around the corner.

Eight weeks away, to be exact. January 7th and 1:30 p.m. I'm kind of freaking out.

And then later, we were at Dierbergs, where everyone kept telling Huntleigh how cute she was and she would ask them: "What's your name?" and then laugh. I probably heard like 8 people tell her she was cute and then I rounded the last aisle--the dairy aisle--where I saw this older woman (a grandmother type) look at Huntleigh for an extended amount of time and I could have sworn she was going to look up at me and tell me how cute my daughter was and how old is she? blah, blah, blah. But instead, she looked away in a kind of horrified state and just shook her head. Now, imagine my surprise, maybe, as I tried to figure out what was so horrible about my two year old, who was singing Baa Baa Black Sheep and waving a piece of chicken nugget around? The woman and I passed one another and I looked down to see Huntleigh (I had one of those cumbersome car carts), looking as sweet and as normal as ever...whatever normal is, I suppose. I thought about being insecure for a second, and then I realized that would be a game not worth engaging, so I just laughed and tried to avoid the woman on the way out of the store. It was so funny to me because I was totally expecting one reaction and received the opposite. I would have thought Huntleigh had poop all over her face or something. Seriously.

Anyways, thanks for being faithful readers/viewers. Here's my little imp.

Congrats on being up to date. Yes, you know I give you a hard time just 'cause I love ya. Also, I thought that pic was Lucy at first glance, it really looks like her. With there pig tails and boots they're going to start being called twins soon. Maybe triplets with Will.

You are all caught up! I thought I was caught up on your blog posts because I would always scroll down to see if you had posted more (like you told us to). I decided to scroll down just for kicks today and BAM... about 3 posts I hadn't seen before. Great job catching up. Huntleigh is beautiful. Look at those beautiful lips in this picture. It looks like she has the perfect lipstick to match her complexion (but I'm assuming those are just her natural lips). Hope you're doing well!
Love,
Kristen

I thought this picture of Huntleigh was Lucy too at first!
