susan

Here is the last of my Chicago photos. This is Susan. She is awesome. We met on Lookout Mountain, when I was in college and she was in high school. If there is anyone I want Huntleigh to grow up and be like, it would be Susan. I think Huntleigh has a lot of Susan in her, even as an almost three year old. Susan is not comfortable with the status quo in anything. Her heart is big and longs for justice and mercy to be fleshed out in the world. She challenges all things in order to get to the truth of the matter and I appreciate that, because it's honest. She gets the brokenness of the world and knows that the only remedy is Jesus incarnate. And she lives it. She'll soon be living it in Malawi and then, perhaps, Nepal. Susan, you're always a breath of fresh air and new thought. Thanks for sharing an expensive steak with me at midnight in a random suburban restaurant. It was so good to see you.

Yay, I remember Susan from YIMI and loved her. Not only is she smart, but a blast too. SB, remember our slumber party at the hotel with Tacy and Susan? We were just getting to know each other then.

Hi Sarah,
We used to go to Crossroads before my husband graduated seminary. I am not sure if we ever officially met. Anyway, we have friends from our church who just moved to Malawi, the Jones'. They are a wonderful Christian family. John Jones is working at African Bible College clinic as a Dr and his wife, Emily, stays home with their 4 incredibly sweet children. Anyway, I don't know if Susan will be near them at all, but I would love to connect them if that's possible. Email me at kennedyfam@knology.net if I can introduce her to them in any way. I love your blog and the sweet pictures of your family. You do a great job.
Blessings,
Julie Kennedy
PS Give some of our old friends at Crossroads a hug for us...Reeves, Goings, Ann Louise, Browns, Tanners, Goodmans, :)
