wake up and smell the espresso
Apparently when my husband went to Peru a couple weeks ago, he got converted. He texted me telling me he was having an espresso and I thought he was kidding, but nope. He actually had a few while he was there and he enjoyed them. I wasn't really convinced until he asked me to get him a double shot the other day when I was at Starbucks. This really is the year for change.

daddy time
What could be better than hanging out with the best story-teller in town in a yellow-blanketed fort in your own living room? Daddy rocks the house.

all about Karri
This is my week to post about babysitters. Karri is one of our favorite sitters. She is just awesome and she completely loves the girls. As a parent, there is little more you can ask for in regards to your regular sitters....you know, that they just love your children in your absence. After Karri puts Lucy down for the night, she makes time to do a project with Huntleigh because she knows all about the Hunts and her "projeks." I love that she encourages Huntleigh regarding creativity. I came home to these the other night. I love Huntleigh's imagination and how Karri helps foster it like this. Karri, thanks for loving our babes.

climber
This child does wear clothing. It seems that I have been photographing her like this quite often as of late. She has gotten super adept at climbing up. It's the going down that she's not so sure about.

projeks
Here is my sweet, energetic Hunts channelling all her energy into one of her famous "projeks." She is so focused. I just love it! And her haircut looks awesome in this picture. It helps me to not have regret for cutting off those seven inches.

obsession
I completely have a crush on Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. Have I mentioned this before?! It's a unit kind of crush (you know, the one comes with the other). I am obsessed. I listen to Coldplay all the time. I saw Gwyneth (that's right...we're on a first name basis) last week on Oprah and even though I couldn't really hear her interview, I could just tell that she's a really down to earth person. I came home and told Josh that I am totally obsessed with her and would love to just be her friend. I would love to have her over for lunch and just hang out with her, to which Josh replied (very seriously): "Sarah, that's what stalkers do." Oh. Okay. So, I guess I'm crazy. Did you know Coldplay is coming to Saint Louis on July 24? Viva la Vida, baby.
In other notes, this is how my babysitter loaded the dishwasher the other night after we got home from a party. I wanted to historicize it. Good work, Megan. This is a first.

valentime's day
I really got into Valentine's Day this year. It all started with the cute place mats from Pottery Barn Kids and then the sparkly heart plates from Target.....you get the picture. Here are a few shots from our Valentine's weekend.
Lucy at a little girls' Valentine's party
I had to capture a picture of this breakfast, because it's rare that we do this and I was kind of proud of myself. I made breakfast and we opened a few little gifts with the girls....it was very celebratory.
Josh and Lucy sharing a coca cola moment
I had to get this one on file because it's rare when Josh and I get a picture when we're all dressed up. I love my hubby. He's a keeper.

hints of spring
Last week's weather was so awesome that we headed out to the zoo with Yia Yia and actually rode the zoo carousel for the first time ever. Fun times. Don't move around on the carousel while it's in motion. You'll get yelled at. My pictures were worth it so I don't care. I'm a rebel anyway. I love the Saint Louis Zoo. It is such an awesome treasure in our city.
I love this picture of my mom with Lucy. She just looks so young-spirited and happy.
My daughters.
Lu, with her big discerning eyes.
I think this is one of my favorite pictures of Hunts of all time. She looks gorgeously happy.
She is one cute little chick.
Discovering.
Shannon, go find those shoes. You won't regret tearing up your house for them.

birthday girl
Even though it was one month late, I made certain that we officially celebrated Lucy's first birthday. It was a fun party, complete with Pi Pizza, cupcakes, presents, and family & friends. Lucy started out in her sweet birthday dress from her B, but she ended up a nakey baby with just her bloomers on. She was much happier being naked. Here's my sweet girl with her sweet disposition. She has brought us great joy in a year of tribulation.
I love this same face thing. It's hilarious.

36
Josh and I celebrated my parents' 36th wedding anniversary with them last week. We had an awesome dinner with them, followed by an awesome dessert, followed by some awesome wine and pipe smoking. Every year of marriage together is something to celebrate. And 36 years is an accomplishment. I love my parents and their marriage is an encouragement to many people. I love you, mom and dad. Thank you for your example of love in action.

This was one of my dad's gifts to my mom. Check out this artist. His work is pretty fascinating.
